<p>The bearing has a bearing stator (41) protected by a jacket (34), and housing portions including insert parts (38A, 38B, 39A, 39B) connected to the jacket by a first set of welds (36A, 36B), where the jacket and the insert parts are made of ferritic stainless steel. The insert parts are connected to a housing end-wall portion (44) by a second set of welds (37A, 37B), before electromagnet windings (42) and a yoke (43) of the stator are put into place. A bearing armature (31) and a detector armature (32) of a position detector are made of ferritic stainless steel and secured to a rotor (30). The first set of welds is formed by electron bombardment welding, laser welding, or tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, and without high-temperature annealing.</p> |
