<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle recognition method for a moving body, which recognizes an obstacle with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The obstacle recognition method for a moving body according to one embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: acquiring road surface data including at least height data using road surface data acquiring means of the moving body; rearranging the acquired road surface data in the order of height; extracting a change point of the rearranged road surface data; and recognizing an obstacle on the basis of the change point.
