摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a device which incorporates plural OCMs, while also preventing crosstalk therebetween. <P>SOLUTION: An optical channel monitor comprises a polarization adjustment unit, a wavelength separation unit, a polarization separation unit, a first intensity detection unit, and a second intensity detection unit. The polarization adjustment unit adjusts, out of a first and a second optical signal which are of wavelength multiplexed optical, the polarization plane of the first optical signal to a first direction and that of the second optical signal to a second direction which intersects the first direction at right angles. The wavelength separation unit separates every wavelength each of optical signals multiplexed into the first and the second optical signals which have had their polarization planes adjusted. The polarization separation unit separates each of the optical signals which have been separated every wavelength on the basis of the directions of polarization planes. The first intensity detection unit receives out of the separated optical signals the one whose direction of polarization plane is in the first direction and detects the intensity of the first optical signal every wavelength.
