The invention relates to a pump with floating pistons, which does not have valves and mechanical members for driving the pistons. The pistons (13a-13f) are all contained in one and the same annular pipe through which they travel in a closed circuit. They are driven by magnetic attraction of stationary inductors (14, 20, 21, 22) distributed along the pipe and controlled with the aid of detectors (16, 23, 24). The pipe is provided with an inlet (5) and with an outlet (8) which are located laterally and dividing the pipe into a compression area (11) and a parking and sealing area (12), in which there is a stop location (25) equipped with sealing gaskets (26) pressing against the stopped piston. Applications: pumping liquid or gaseous substances. <IMAGE>
