<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily recover the number of replications when the number of information storage nodes to store data is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: An information storage system comprises a plurality of information storage nodes and management nodes. The management node determines the specified number of information storage nodes which store the specified number of the same data for each of received user data. Each of the above data attributes to each of the above specified number of categories.
