<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system and a power saving control method, capable of realizing a power saving control function of a processor regardless of specifications of an OS or an SMS. <P>SOLUTION: A BMC acquires information related to power consumption in each processor as power information, identifies conditions of maintaining processing performance and reducing the power consumption in the whole of a plurality of processors on the basis of the power information, specifies a processor whose power source should be changed to be on or off as a specified processor on the basis of an identification result, generates optimization information indicating the specified processor, generates an interruption request indicating the fact that the specified processor is to be cut off from subordinates of the OS or the fact that the specified processor is to be incorporated in the subordinates of the OS on the basis of the optimization information, and notifies the OS of the interruption request.
