<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the visibility of both of bio-tissue and a puncture needle. <P>SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus is equipped with a scanning control part, an image forming part, an image forming control part, an image synthesizing part and a display control part. The scanning control part executes first scanning for performing ultrasonic transmission in a first direction and second scanning for performing ultrasonic transmission in a plurality of respective directions and the image forming part forms a first ultrasonic image by the first scanning and forms a second ultrasonic image group by the second scanning. The image forming control part forms a needle image on the basis of the analyzing result of the brightness distributions of the first ultrasonic image and the image group based on the second ultrasonic image group or the analyzing result of the respective brightness distributions of the second ultrasonic image group.
