<p>Provided are a communication device and a method for monitoring performance thereof. The communication device includes a communication processing unit for performing the functions of the communication device; a collection unit for collecting the signals outputted by the communication processing unit; and a monitoring unit for monitoring the signals collected by the collection unit so as to locate a failure. In the embodiments of the present invention, the communication device can realize failure monitoring on its own, avoiding the problem caused by providing a specialized monitoring device externally.</p>
