<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic composition exhibiting improved visual effects and making up the skin, lip, nail and/or a keratin fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The makeup composition, especially a mascara, containing carbon black encapsulated in a spherical silica matrix, is provided.
