<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-treating agent capable of imparting water repellency, oil repellency, and IPA repellency to various kinds of base materials, in particular, electronic components, and having high heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: In the surface-treating agent, the polymer containing the structural unit (A) to be derived from (metha) acrylate to be expressed by the formula (a), and a structural unit (B) to be derived from N-substituted maleimide is contained in the solvent.
