<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the abusive movement of an electric vehicle by using a charging cable. <P>SOLUTION: An electric vehicle 10 and a charging installation 30 are connected to each other via a charging cable 14 and connectors 15, 38. On the connectors 15, 38, lock mechanisms 16, 39 are provided, respectively. When the lock mechanisms 16, 39 are unlocked with regular operation to separate the connectors 15, 38 from each other, an antitheft device ECU 28 mounted on the vehicle 10 permits normal travel of the vehicle 10. On the other hand, when th connectors 15, 38 are separated from each other, not through the regular operation, or the cable 14 is cut, the antitheft device ECU 28 executes theft countermeasure processing. The theft countermeasure processing can include the output of alarm sounds, the travel restriction of the vehicle 10, and a notice of theft information.
