PURPOSE: A fringe-field switching mode liquid crystal display device for increasing transmittance using a chiral dopant is provided to stabilize each twist degree for a central electrode portion, an edge portion, a space portion, and a central portion of the space portion, thereby preventing lowering of transmittance. CONSTITUTION: A counter electrode and a pixel electrode are formed between a lower substrate and an alignment film. A liquid crystal layer(50) is placed between an upper substrate and the lower substrate. The liquid crystal layer comprises a liquid crystal compound and a chiral dopant. The liquid crystal compound is arranged along with a rubbing axis of the alignment film. The pitch value of the chiral dopant is from -20 micrometers to -4 micrometers or from +4 micrometers to +20 micrometers. |
