<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjustment device which improves the precision of subject capture determination. <P>SOLUTION: A focus adjustment device for use in an imaging apparatus detects an amount of defocusing of a photographic lens on the basis of subject signals stored in an AF sensor and calculates an amount of correlation between a subject signal obtained currently and subject signals obtained in the past and changes a threshold to a greater value for the calculated amount of correlation showing higher correlation. The focus adjustment device compares the amount of defocusing with the changed threshold to determine whether a subject identical to subjects relating to subject signals obtained in the past is captured or not and, in the case that the identical subject is determined to be captured, moves the photographic lens to perform focus adjustment on the basis of the amount of defocusing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
