For example, a layout may be defined to display videoconference video streams in at least first and second vertical columns of video streams where a first two videoconference video streams in adjacent positions in an ordered list of videoconference video streams are assigned to the first column and a second two videoconference video streams in adjacent positions in the ordered list of videoconference video streams are assigned to the second column.
