A reverse input shutoff clutch transmitting only unidirectional input torque, wherein a spring clutch using a coil spring (7) having one, fixed to an input gear (1), of winding end parts, is employed as a lock means for engaging (locking) the input gear (1) and an output rotation member (5) in a constant direction in a torque transmissible manner. A unidirectional clutch (8) allowing a flywheel (6) to idle in a constant direction, and allowing the flywheel (6) to engage with a fixed shaft (2) to stop the flywheel (6) at the time of reverse direction rotation is incorporated between the flywheel (6) driven by press by the input gear (1) and the fixed shaft (2). When supply of input torque in a constant direction stops, a free side winding end part of the coil spring (7) is pressed by coasting of the flywheel (6) to release a lock state between the input gear (1) and the output rotation member (5) by the spring clutch. Thereafter, the flywheel (6) stops without reverse rotation, so that the lock release state is maintained. Thus, an input rotation member is prevented from co-rotating by reverse input torque after transmission of the input torque.
