<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To irradiate an observation target region with illumination light suitable for close-up observation and ordinary observation. <P>SOLUTION: A light guide 30 comprises a first fiber bundle 51 and a second fiber bundle 52. The numerical aperture of optical fibers of the second fiber bundle 52 is larger than the numerical aperture of optical fibers of the first fiber bundle 51. A light quantity adjusting mechanism 34 is controlled to illuminate the observation target region only with the illumination light from the first fiber bundle 51 during a close-up observation mode, illuminate the observation target region with the illumination light from the second fiber bundle 52 during an ordinary observation mode, and irradiate the observation target region with the illumination light from the first fiber bundle 51 as well when a light quantity is insufficient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
