<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule dispersion excellent in discharge stability and a method for producing such a dispersion. <P>SOLUTION: The microcapsule dispersion includes microcapsules and water, the microcapsule including a color material, a compound having an acid functional group, a polymer obtained by polymerizing a hydrophobic monomer, and a surfactant, wherein the polymer obtained by polymerizing the hydrophobic monomer has a weight-average molecular weight of 300,000-2,500,000, the microcapsule has a surface acid value of 1-100 mgKOH/g which is 50-90% of the acid value of the entire microcapsule, and the amount of the hydrophobic monomer included in 1g of the microcapsule is 1,000 ppm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
