PURPOSE: A toner transfer device, a toner receiving container, an image forming device, and a method for controlling the toner transfer device are provided to separate condensed toner when a toner container is in an overload state, thereby normally supplying the toner. CONSTITUTION: A toner receiving container includes a container body and a mixing unit(38,40). A driving unit includes a driving part(55), a detecting unit(57), and a control unit(79). The driving part drives the mixing unit. The detecting unit detects a driving state of the driving part. When the toner receiving container is in an overload state, the control unit performs retry control to repetitively rotate the mixing unit by the driving part in a forward direction.
