By means of a method for producing a sugar solution comprising the following steps (1) and (2), it is possible to reduce the amount of cellulase used for hydrolysis in the production of a sugar solution by hydrolysis of a cellulose-containing biomass: Step (1) is a step for hydrolysis by using a filamentous bacteria-derived cellulase in order to hydrolyze a cellulose pretreatment product to which a water-soluble inorganic salt has been added to bring the final concentration to within a range of 5 to 35 g/L and step (2) is a step for obtaining a sugar solution by solid-liquid separation of the hydrolysis product, filtration of the resulting solution components through a critical filtration membrane, and recovery of the filamentous bacteria-derived cellulase as the non-permeating liquid and the sugar solution as the permeating liquid. |
