PURPOSE: A filter unit for eliminating regenerable metals, a filter device, and a method for driving the same are provided to improve the efficiency of currents in the process of regeneration by minimizing cell resistance. CONSTITUTION: A filter unit is composed of a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator. The separator is positioned between the first electrode and the second electrode. The separator is made of an insulating material with micropores which transfer ions through the first electrode and the second electrode. The parallel direction of the separator to the side in contact with either the first electrode or the second electrode is non-permeable. Either the first electrode or the second electrode is a catalyst carrying electrode or an inactive electrode with a non-catalytic material.
