<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inductive currents from flowing within an RF coil for local transmission even if an RF signal is transmitted from an RF coil for the whole body housed in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) apparatus while a connector of the RF coil for local transmission set on a gantry is left unconnected to the MRI apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the RF coil apparatus is detachably connected to the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus to transmit an RF signal to a subject as an RF signal current fed from the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus flows through a coil element. The RF coil apparatus has a trap circuit inserted into a pathway of the RF signal current in the coil element. The trap circuit selectively blocks a frequency band including a Lamor frequency according to the input voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
