An Internet of Things communication method, a gateway, a terminal and a system. The method includes: a gateway receives routing request information containing the address of a destination terminal sent by a source terminal; when the destination terminal is located within an area governed by the gateway, the gateway determines a first communication path and first communication resources between the source terminal and the destination terminal according to topology information between terminals within the governed area and information about the resources for communication between terminals, and sends information about the first communication path and first communication resources to the source terminal. The present invention allows the terminal to be controlled by the network.
