PURPOSE: A backlight assembly and a display device with the same are provided to make the display device small and effectively supply light. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(210) has a light emitting surface, a light guide surface, and a first surface. The light emitting surface emits light. The light guide surface faces the light emitting surface. The first surface has a first slope against the light guide surface. The first slope has an acute angle. A plurality of first light sources generate light. The first light sources are arranged on a lower portion of an area adjacent to an edge of the light guide surface which meets the first surface.
