PURPOSE: A mode switching system and a method thereof are provided to perform active mode switching operation according to a page signal received through a mobile communication network. CONSTITUTION: A communication system(150) generates a wireless signal including an automatic mode conversion mode. A mobile communication terminal(200) is switched into an active mode or an inactive mode according to automatic mode switching information.
