PURPOSE:To perform the expanded interpolation processing for a large amount of image data at high speed. CONSTITUTION:Adjacent four points are read out of the image data stored in a MEM 3, an IPs (interpolation block) 10 and 11 compares the two points with a constant D in level. The IP which discriminates that the two points are larger in level than the constant D outputs the interpolation value for a linear interpolation as a result of the expanded interpolation processing. The IP which discriminates that the two points are smaller in level than the constant D outputs the interpolation value for the last value interpolation as a result of the expanded interpolation processing. Then an IP 12 outputs an expanded outputs H obtained in the expanded interpolation processing similar to those performed by the IPs 10 and 11 based on the two interpolation values outputted by the IPs 10 and 11. |
