The device has an image sensor e.g. charge coupled device image sensor, detecting radiation-related data. Light input is blocked by a light-proof cover during data detection, where the cover is permeable for radiation to be detected or device control is changed such that a diaphragm, a closure and/or a mirror of a mirror reflex camera are closed during detection of the data and the light does not enter the sensor during measurement. The cover and the electronics apparatus are made of hydrogen-containing material i.e. hydrocarbon such as paraffin or organic proton-containing compounds. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting, determining or quantifying intensity or dose rate of radiation.
