The operating method involves supplying fuel from a fuel tank (1), particularly of an internal combustion engine to a consumer and particularly to input side of a high pressure pump (4). The fuel is supplied under high pressure to inject into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. The fuel is supplied by an ejector pump (5) from an area of the fuel tank into another area of the fuel tank allowing pilot control in the area of the fuel tank.
