The heater has an exhaust outlet arranged at a disposal side (14) of a heater body (12) for producing combustion exhaust gases in a burner region. A silencer (40) comprises an exhaust gas intake port at a silencer inlet side (42). The silencer is arranged at the heater body such that the silencer inlet side lies opposite to the disposal side of the heater body. The silencer receives the exhaust gases delivered by an exhaust outlet (16) through the exhaust gas intake port. The exhaust outlet comprises connecting pieces (18) connected with the exhaust gas intake port.
