PURPOSE: A portable lamp using incline sensing and a controlling method thereof are provided to easily control the brightness of a light emitting unit by inclining a head of a user and the portable lamp in a Y axis. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting unit(20) is connected to a power supply unit. A sensor unit(30) senses the inclination of a portable lamp(10). A control block controls the on and off of the light emitting unit according to a sensing signal from the sensor unit. The sensor unit is a tri-axial sensor. The control block is connected to a voltage detecting unit which detects a voltage in real time.
