<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing tool and a mirror surface polishing method using it capable of finishing to an appropriate mirror surface by uniformly polishing the unevenness of the surface even if a polishing object is a complex shape body having a number of unevenness. <P>SOLUTION: The polishing tool is provided with a spherical shape or curved body shape permanent magnet 1 at the tip so as to act as a generation source for a magnetic field, and cooperated with a driving means capable of performing multi-axis control for at least an x axis, a y axis, and a z axis. The permanent magnet 1 faces the polishing object 4 in a non-contact manner, movement operation for moving in a three-dimensional way is performed for the polishing tool, and fluid polishing is performed by being interlocked with a magnetic polishing liquid 5 present at the periphery. The movement of the polishing tool is, for example, an operation for scanning all over the projected surface of the polishing object 4. Since the permanent magnet 1 has the spherical shape (curved body shape), there are few places having congested magnetic contour lines, and a polishing operation caused by abrasive grains in the magnetic polishing liquid can be uniformized without depending on the place. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
