<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-sensitized solar cell which hardly reduces photoelectric conversion efficiency even when being curved and deformed, and to provide a method for manufacturing the dye-sensitized solar cell, which can obtain a dye-sensitized solar cell that can form a rectifying layer at low temperature and hardly reduces photoelectric conversion efficiency even when being curved and deformed. <P>SOLUTION: The dye-sensitized solar cell has a photoelectric conversion element which comprises: a first electrode layer having translucency; a rectifying layer having translucency; a photoelectric conversion layer in which sensitized dye is carried on a semiconductor material; a charge transport layer; and a second electrode layer, which are stacked on a translucent substrate in this order. The rectifying layer is a layer of which n type semiconductor particles are dispersed in a hydrophilic resin.
