<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of performing stable seek processing even in the case that difference between an S-shaped balance adjustment value and a focus balance adjustment value is large. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk device of the present invention includes an optical pickup, a signal generating part for generating a total reflection signal and a focus error signal, and a servo control part for controlling the optical pickup. The optical disk device further includes a main control part for calculating a differential value between a first adjustment value being an adjustment value for adjusting the optical pickup so as to minimize error balance of the focus error signal, and a second adjustment value being an adjustment value for adjusting the optical pickup so as to maximize the total reflection signal. The main control part determines whether the differential value exceeds a predetermined threshold. In the case that the differential value exceeds the predetermined threshold, the main control part controls the servo control part to use the first adjustment value during seek processing to adjust the optical pickup. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
