Embodiments of the present invention provide a theme setting method and a terminal device. The method comprises: acquiring image information of a target object; according to the image information of the target object, acquiring a color parameter of at least one pixel; according to the correlation between the color parameter and the theme, acquiring the theme corresponding to the color parameter of the at least one pixel; and according to the theme, setting the theme. The embodiments of the present invention improve the theme setting efficiency of the terminal device.
