<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 1,8-aryl-substituted naphthalene derivative exhibiting excimer characteristics and an organic EL element using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The organic EL element is obtained by using the 1,8-aryl-substituted naphthalene derivative exhibiting excimer characteristics represented by general formula (1). In the formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>are each a group independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, deuterium, a 1C-4C linear or branched alkyl group, an alkoxy group or an alkylamino group each having a 1C-4C linear or branched alkyl moiety, fluorine and an acetoxy group; and Ar is any one of a pyrenyl group, a 4-(9-N-carbazolyl)phenyl group and a 4-[10-(9-phenyl)anthranyl]phenyl group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
