<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high mechanical strength light-weight translucent heat insulator having excellent optical transparency and heat insulation properties. <P>SOLUTION: A translucent heat insulator comprises a heat insulator with bored through-holes in each of which an optical wave guide made of a transparent resin is arranged. A manufacturing method of the translucent heat insulator comprises preparing a heat insulator with bored through-holes, and then arranging an optical wave guide made of a transparent resin in each of the through-holes of the heat insulator so as to produce the translucent heat insulator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
