摘要 PURPOSE: A crystallized glass for led packages and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to have heat discharging properties suitable for the LED packages. CONSTITUTION: A crystallized glass for led packages comprises 1-3 molar portion of SiO2, 1-4 molar portion of CaO, 0.6-1.4 molar portion of MgO, and 0.1-1.5 molar portion of Al2O3. The molar ratio CaO to MgO is 1-2.5. The glass ceramics has a mixed-crystalline phase of cordierite phase and diopside phase. A manufacturing method of the glass ceramics for the LED packages comprises the following steps: uniformly mixing 1-3 molar portion of SiO2, 0.6-1.4 molar portion of CaO, 0.1-0.5 molar portion of MgO, and 0.1-0.5 molar portion of Al2O3; fusing the mixed powder at 1400-1500 deg. Celsius; manufacturing a homogeneous parent glass by rapidly cooling the fused powder with water; manufacturing pellets by compression molding the glass frit after manufacturing glass frit by pulverizing the homogeneous parent glass into the particle diameter of 45 micro meters; and crystallizing the pellet at a sintering temperature of 850-955 deg.
