<p>A display apparatus includes: an acceptance unit that accepts a first input image and a second input image; a light control unit that outputs a display image; a plurality of light sources that irradiate the light control unit; a light emitting amount computation unit that computes a first light emitting amount based on a luminance of the first input image and computes a tentative light emitting amount based on a luminance of the second input image , on a basis of a comparison result between the first light emitting amount and the tentative light emitting amount, imposes a limit on a change range from the first light emitting amount to a second light emitting amount , and decide the second light emitting amount; and a light source control unit that controls each of the plurality of light sources based on the second light emitting amount.
