A portable electronic device is provided with: a gyro sensor for detecting angular speed; a first housing in which the gyro sensor is positioned; a second housing connected movably to the first housing and configured so as to change the angle between the housings through movement thereof; and a control unit for calculating the change in the angle between the first and second housing before and after movement thereof as a measured angle, by using output data from the gyro sensor, and calculating a correction value in relation to the output data from the gyro sensor, on the basis of a pre-set reference angle and the measured angle (fig. 1).
