<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator and an oscillatory wave driver which can achieve simple arrangement and can be manufactured by a simple manufacturing process. <P>SOLUTION: The oscillation wave driver includes an oscillator 100 and a moving element 101. The oscillator 100 includes a piezoelectric element 1 having a tubular shape, a support 5 made of an insulating material and having a disc part 5a and a shaft rod 5b, and a fixed member 6 made of a conductive material and having a disc shape. A conductive coating 3 is formed by electroless nickel plating on the entire exposed surface of the piezoelectric element 1 and the support 5. Furthermore, the surface of the conductive coating 3 on the piezoelectric element 1 and the support 5 is irradiated with laser such that the conductive coating 3 on the outer circumferential surface of the piezoelectric element 1 is divided into four in the circumferential direction. The conductive coating 3 is melted with heat of laser and removed and an electrode division part 4 is provided. Consequently, four outer circumferential electrodes 3b are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the piezoelectric element 1.
