<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electric wire capable of reducing a loss caused by an eddy current to a degree equivalent to Cu wire or less, for reduced AC resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The electric wire is provided with a conductor part made from a material whose volume resistivity is higher than copper. The method of manufacturing the electric wire includes a step in which an AC resistance value of the electric wire and that of a copper wire which has the same thickness and length as the electric wire, are calculated for each of a plurality of wire thicknesses according to a plurality of frequencies. A first frequency in which the AC resistance value of the electric wire agrees with that of the copper wire, and a second frequency whose frequency is higher than the first frequency, are extracted for each of the plurality of wire thicknesses. Such wire thickness of which the frequency used with the electric wire is accommodated in the frequency band, from the first frequency to the second frequency, is extracted out of among the plurality of wire thicknesses.
