A motor that is capable of exhibiting multiple driving characteristics by the motor alone so as to expand the output range is provided. Three coils are wound around each stator tooth (A-F); and each stator tooth (A-F) is provided with a switch that is capable of achieving a concentrated winding state by serially connecting the three coils and a switch that is capable of achieving a distributed winding state by serially connecting a given set of coils between adjoining stator teeth (A-F). Switching between the concentrated winding state and the distributed winding state is made according to a rotating speed, a torque, or the like.
