COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY AND TOMOSYNTHESIS SYSTEM

A computed tomography system adapted for tomosynthesis provides sectional and planar images comparable to conventional systems. The computed tomography system includes an inner circular gantry and an outer gantry within a housing assembly. A plurality of spaced apart radiology plates are located along a surface of the inner circular gantry. An x-ray source is security to the outer gantry and adapted to shoot x-rays between the spaced apart phosphor surfaces and onto the patient.
