A propulsion device for a ship according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a propeller coupled to a stern to generate propulsion force; a circular duct installed in front of the propeller; one or more current fins protruding from the stern in a direction far from the center of a propeller shaft, and protruding from the inner and outer surfaces of the duct; and support fins for connecting the stern and the inner surface of the duct. The propulsion device for a ship according to present invention can optimize water flow flowing along the inner and outer surface of the duct by having the duct, the current fins extended to the outer surface of the duct, and one or more counter current generation protrusions attached to the top of the duct; thereby highly increasing propulsion performance.
