PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent a seal pattern from being overlapped with an alignment film by reducing the number of design rules of the alignment film which occupies a non display area by a lift-off process. CONSTITUTION: First and second alignment films(120,152) are provided to at least one of upper parts of a first black matrix and a first insulating film. The first and second alignment films are extended from a display area to a non display area. A seal pattern(160) is provided onto the first insulating film of the non display area. The seal pattern is separated from at least one of the first and second alignment films. The seal pattern bonds a first substrate with a second substrate to make the first black matrix to face the first insulating film. |
