<p>The invention relates to a process and installation for desalting the sea water. According to the invention, the process achieves the temporary vacuum condition by a mechanical process and the vaporization of water in the enclosure wherein there was obtained the temporary vacuum and rapid condensation of formed water vapours to simultaneously obtain demineralized water and heat in a heat exchanger and concentrated solutions of salts, particularly sodium chloride.
