The plate has a reactive face (1) to transmit comburant gas or fuel gas towards a membrane electrode assembly. The reactive face includes an active area (2) with projecting edges (3) defining channels forming a gas circulation circuit between a gas inlet (4) and a gas outlet (6). A gas supply channel (5) comprises a downstream end emerging directly in a circulation circuit. An upstream portion formed by a groove is located apart from the area. A downstream portion is located in the active area, where the downstream portion is realized by one of openings in the edges. An independent claim is also included for a fuel cell including a membrane unit electrode.
