The device (100) e.g. dip coating device (102), has a thermal power engine (112) served as an energy source (138), and a function unit (118) performing function of the device. The thermal power engine is mechanically coupled with the function unit, so that energy is mechanically transferred by the thermal power engine to the function unit. The function unit is formed as a ventilator for driving air flow as a pump (116) for driving service liquid (108), as a conveying device for conveying work-pieces, as a cleaning apparatus, a heating device (115) and/or a cooling device (117). The thermal power engine is supplied with fuel selected from oil, petroleum, natural gas, dump gas, sewer gas, methane, fermentation gas, hydrogen and/or a mixture of two fuels. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a surface treatment device for treating a surface of a work-piece. |
