PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch button whose coating layer does not wear even if a switch device is used for a long period of time.

SOLUTION: The switch button comprises: a button body 21 made of a transparent material; a recess 22 formed on a rear surface of the button body 21; and a coating layer 24 formed on at least a bottom surface 22a out of the bottom surface 22a and a side surface 22b of the recess 22. An assignment display part 23 which can be distinguished from the coating layer 24 when viewed from the front side of the button body 21 may be formed on the bottom surface 22a of the recess 22.
