The method involves clocked dosing of a liquid medium by a feed pump and a metering valve. The pressure is detected in the dosing system. A detectable pressure is evaluated the spectrally over time, particularly subjected to a frequency analysis. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program for execution of a dosing system function monitoring method; and (2) a computer program product with program code that is stored on a machine readable carrier.
