Disclosed are an apparatus for scanning an image captured by a camera using a total reflection prism and a method for controlling same. The disclosed apparatus for scanning an image captured by a camera comprises: a camera for capturing at least a portion of an object image; and a total reflection prism, opposite an incident surface of which an object to be scanned is placed, and opposite a light-emitting surface of which the camera is placed, and which has a total reflection surface for total reflection. The object image incident to the incident surface is totally reflected at the total reflection surface and transferred to the camera through the light-emitting surface. The disclosed apparatus for scanning an image captured by a camera using a total reflection prism and the method for controlling same may enable the elimination of the need for a distance to be provided between the camera and the object to be scanned, thus enabling the apparatus for scanning an image captured by a camera to be compact, small, and slim, thereby increasing portability. |
